Who we are

Hi, my name is Alessandra Campana and since I moved to the United States from Italy in 2004 I’ve been asked so many times for recipes. My cooking skills have been put to the test and little by little I became aware of the misconception of Italian food in America. I was struggling to make people happy by cooking dishes that are not from my region, I was questioned about my version of Alfredo sauce (???) and a lot of times I was asked “where is the meat?”. I went to many so called Italian restaurants only to find greasy and over-sized portions of dishes made with too many ingredients.   No wonder why Americans think that Italian food is fattening!!! If you read “one boot, 20 regions” you will come to understand that, unless you are a professional chef, each Italian will know best how to cook dishes that are typical of his/her region or dishes that are very popular nationwide. Not only, but the variations on the same recipe can be infinite, depending also on family traditions.   My mission was to give Americans the Real Deal, the authentic and vast amount of recipes from all over Italy.   Could I do it by myself?
